ADOPT A SHELF TRAINING

The Beloit Public Library has a program for teen and adult volunteers to help keep the library items in correct order by “shelf-reading” at the library.  This program is called “Adopt-A-Shelf”.  Volunteers attend a mandatory 2 hours of training to learn how the library is organized alphabetically and by the Dewey Decimal system.  Volunteers then agree to adopt an area of the library’s collection and help make sure that it stays neat, in ord
