Hold an Item
Placing a Hold
Holding an item is easy at the Beloit Public Library. You can do it yourself through our online catalog, SHARE, or give us a call at 608-364-2905. You may also hold an item by visiting our Youth Service Desk or our Adult Service Desk.
Need more information about using SHARE? Click here.
Unable to find what you need on SHARE? Just send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will conduct a more extensive search for you.
We apologize, but we are unable to place holds on items in our Reference, Geneaology, and/or Professional collections.
Self-Service Holds Pick Up
As of March 30, 2015, you are now able to pick up your own holds and check them out using one of our self-check stations. You may, of course, still bring your holds to the main check-out desk for a staff member to assist you.
Holds will be shelved alphabetically using a unique HOLD ID for each patron. Your code will consist of the first three letters of your last name and the last four digits of your library card number.
Reminders: The item(s) on hold must be checked out with the same card that placed the hold(s). We are unable to transfer holds to another library card.
